iBeacon application connects the beacon gadget to iPhone via bluetooth. To locate the beacon user has to press ‘Alert’ in the application. To receive notification about the phone’s location user has to press the button on the beacon device.
This application shows capabilities of a small iBeacon bluetooth device.
